Crystal beauty product graphics

PROJECT: New product graphics for established brand, White Lotus’ crystal beauty and well-being product range.

We’re pleased to announce the new product packaging graphics identity for White Lotus Beauty – a respected leader in the field of cosmetic skin-needling and crystal anti-aging techniques.


THE BRIEF

Having been referred to the brand owners by Snowbell Beauty Brand Consultancy our brief was to overhaul the existing identity which had become disparate and inconsistent. The brand has many products within its range and the use of its existing logo, colour and typeface had drifted.

Charged with an open brief, it was important however, to maintain an element of the brand’s current red colour and to keep an image of a lotus flower in some form. Another important factor was to introduce a visual quality associated with more premium skincare products.


THE LOGO

Through a series of initial design concepts; some with stronger, more obvious nods towards the Far Eastern origins behind the products and treatments, the logo was developed. The elegant, type-based single line of lettering is used in two options; either using a specific Pantone red or a shiny silver foil block where the budget allows.

THE FIRST PRODUCTS

The first round of crystal beauty products to feature the new identity comprise of a crystal serum and a facial oil. Packaged in frosted glass bottles and silver metallic dropper collars, the products have transparent wrap labels, and are sold in white, matt outer cartons. These primary product wrap labels feature the new silver foil version of the White Lotus logo, rotated vertically for space and aesthetic purposes.

Rather than feature the new white lotus flower as a bold icon, as had previously been done, we opted for a more subtle solution. This time a beautiful, simplistic illustration of a white lotus flower (created by The Flowertype) is used in knocked-back tints, and wraps around the labels and cartons.

The cardboard outer cartons have the same graphics as the labels on the front face, but additionally feature a bold key line in the brand’s red colour. This highlight runs around the outer faces of the carton to form a ribbon. This divides the sides in two, into which a glimpse of the flower illustration is featured.

WELL-BEING BOXED PRODUCTS

White Lotus also offers other well-being products including derma-stamp and micro-needling kits. In order to prevent a mainly white box, the new flower illustration is enlarged to fill more of the space available on these larger product cartons and the red ribbon/flower ‘glimpse’ are brought around to the front.

To accompany the refreshed product graphics we have also updated the e-book covers for White Lotus’ various holistic and beauty product courses.

Another crystal-based facial skincare beauty project that we’ve worked on is KITA Skincare premium, luxury skincare packaging.
