This is an area where we will post news, images and updates on projects as they happen. The format and style may be different to the style of the portfolio section, but we hope it will be just as interesting and relevant.
We’re pleased to announce the work we have completed with Tangle Teezer on the launch of their latest hair brush product – the Blow-styling paddle hairbrush.
Paul Cartwright Branding were asked to design the packaging graphics for two new products (a full and a half sized brush to suit different hair lengths), as well as creating point of sale materials and all magazine advertisments for the launch. The product is available at Boots and at Tangle Teezer’s online store.

We are pleased to announce our involvement in the design development of KITA, a luxury, premium brand – initially launching as a series of five skin moisturising serums, formulated specifically to complement the reflexology-based philosophy of the Five Elements.
Paul Cartwright Branding were brought in in November 2013 to take an existing logo and other graphic elements* to create the identity for five single products and their cartons. Product images are here.
We also created brand guidelines, press launch materials and proposed physical packaging and graphic product concepts for the brand’s tester sets and samples. Press launch images are here.
Just received samples of very some exciting cartons that we’ve designed, as part of a new skincare range. Can’t give you any more detail yet, but understand that the range is launching in August so will unveil all then.
The cartons featuring metallic inks, embossing and gloss UV varnishes were printed by Curtis Packaging.
We’ve created a lot of advertisments for Tangle Teezer over the last few years and thought it would be interesting to feature some of them together (newest ones at the top.)
Most of these have been designed for Creative Head and Professional Hair magazines.
We are pleased to be working with NICARA skincare – commissioned recently to overhaul the core range and then to develop the ‘chocolate’ sub-range of this extensive skincare brand. Will post work when available to release.
Latest advert for Tangle Teezer as published in the newly re-formatted Creative Head magazine.
Having worked on the label design of online retailer Nexrastore’s own-brand of toiletries/skincare products over the past 12 months, we are pleased to publish details of the project.
The brief was to design a bold, modern identity that would photograph well in specialist beauty magazines and feature strong, stock photography to reflect the fragrance of each product. The existing NEXRASTORE logo was refined and was coupled with bright text ‘ping’ colours, tie-ing in with colours taken from the ‘fragrance’ photography on a rich-brown unifying background.
The products are being launched in stages; a body lotion and shower gel and a day/night cream currently available at this point, along with versions of the design created by a 3rd party on the brand’s website > www.nexrastore.com.
A fabulous testimonial from the managing director, Delphina Jones. is here.

We have some exciting new projects to feature in the next few weeks…
Tangle Teezer recently took part in an International Beauty Show in the US and promoted their product offer with these 3x exhibition panels designed by Paul Cartwright Branding. As usual, the graphics are fun, bite-size and quirky to help educate potential customers to the key benefits of their hairbrush range.
Based on the packaging graphic design of Phytomone’s new skincare range (to be launched later this year), we were also asked to re-design the book covers for founder Jane Atherton’s two books. The covers feature striking black and red colourations with gold foil and spot varnish details.
‘The Menopause Secret’ is currently number one best seller on Amazon and is available here.
We’re pleased to announce the new Tangle Teezer timeline – a scrolling graphic that takes you through the journey of Shaun P. the man behind the Tangle Teezer hairbrush range. As part of our on-going relationship with TT, we were asked to design the graphics and created this scrapbook-feel path through Shaun’s business life, showing his roots as a hair colourist through to his Queen’s Award for Business.
The timeline graphics were integrated into the new Tangle Teezer site by their in-house team and the complete timeline can be seen here.
Another project for Tangle Teezer as part of our on-going support for this ever successful hair product company, this time helping them with the graphic design and artwork for two point of sale display units as used in UK salons. Cardboard engineering and print sourcing by www.maxipos.com
A real change from our usual work, we were recommended by Hexagonwebworks to create the logo for Adam Calvert, a respected instructor in the UK game shooting world, offering bespoke gun fitting and shooting coaching. The logo features Adam’s initials, creating a recognisable symbol for branding garments and vehicles and at the same time illustrating the sight path of a grouse in flight. The website, designed by Hexagon, is here.

Shot of the double page spread advert in the Spring/Summer edition of Runway magazine, featuring a collaboration between Tangle Teezer and celebrity hair stylists Percy & Reed. Designed by Paul Cartwright Branding.
As one of the many things we design for Tangle Teezer, we were asked to create the back wall product display layout (as shown in the background of the first photo.)
The overall stand (designed and manufactured by AB Inspirations) was very popular and the back wall itself was apparently highly photographed!
Having assisted Temple Spa with producing the artworks for their Spring gift boxes, they asked Paul Cartwright Branding to take this design, created by their in-house team, rationalise it and create the production artworks for this year’s Christmas gift product boxes. The artworks contained a highly detailed crest illustration and repeat pattern that required significant streamlining in order to create suitable quality artworks. The products can be bought online.
Our latest news! Here’s the official group product image (plus some quick studio shots of ours showing the cartons) of the Merumaya Integrative Effective Skincare logo and packaging graphics designed by Paul Cartwright Branding.
The range consists of 12 products comprising of;
Iconic Youth Serum, Youth Preservation Moisturiser, Melting Cleansing Balm, Skin Brightening Exfoliating Peel, Daily Cleansing Cloth, Youthful Eye Cream, Luxury Facial Wash, Pure Radiance Mask, Concentrated Spot Treatment, Hand wash and a Manual Cleansing Brush plus a Taster set of trial size products.
The high percentage of active ingredients formulated into the range has impressed the industry press at this week’s launch meetings and will be available online next week and on the high street in the new year.
The project details are here.
On site shot of the graphic panels, designed for one of Ark At Home’s ‘Ark Angels’ – one of the team of independent skincare party organisers, shown at last weekend’s Olympia Beauty 2012 show at Earl’s Court.
Following on from the Feline Groovy, Shaun The Sheep and Cool Britannia customised Compact Styler products, we have created the graphics for Tangle Teezer’s latest design. The new product, called ‘Penelope Pink’ features cute, retro style bows and hearts in 50’s pink and blue.
Tangle Teezer is donating 20% of its sales from ‘Penelope Pink’ to Breast Cancer Care throughout the month of October.
The product is available exclusively at www.tangleteezer.com.

PROJECT: Paul Cartwright Branding was appointed to assist in the realisation of the logo and packaging graphics for a new J-shaped travel pillow. Featuring an innovative ‘chin hook’ the product claims to prevent ‘nodding’ and enables you to sleep sitting up! Based on the client’s specific brief, and to appeal to an already busy market, the feature-packed wrap graphics were developed to spell out how the product works; featuring a model shot, instructional graphics and features and benefits in the form of pictograms.
The product website> www.jpillow.com launches August 2012 for both consumer and trade enquiries. The product is also due to feature on the QVC television shopping channel in the coming weeks.
