2. The type of personal information we collect

We currently collect and process the following information when you contact us initially:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • Your telephone number
  • Your business name and its business activity
  • Details of your enquiry to us with regards you requesting our services

Should the enquiry then move forward and you decide to proceed with our services, we will request:

  • Your registered company or correspondence address for the purposes of creating a proposal/agreement/contract with you with regards the specific project
  • Bank details (account name, sort code and account number) for the purposes of billing

This information is encrypted on our computer system’s digital storage devices.

We will not sell or lease your personal information to third parties, unless we have previously asked your permission or are required to do so by law.


3. How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • For the purposes of you communicating with us initially with regards to possibly using our services
  • For us to understand the nature of your enquiry
  • For communicating with you during a project
  • For contacting you as a courtesy after your project has been signed off or launched

We use the information that you have given us in order to:

  • Communicate with you during a project, for the purposes of quoting, billing and invoicing.

We use the third parties listed below to process personal data on our behalf. These third parties have been carefully chosen and, to the best of our belief and understanding, all of them comply with current legislation.

  • Google/Gmail – when sending emails via their email servers (Privacy policy)
  • Dropbox – when storing our design and artwork files. This service has the facility to share these files to you directly using your name and email address (Privacy policy)
  • WeTransfer – when issuing artwork or design files to you through their online transfer service (Privacy policy)
  • Quickbooks – when issuing quotes/invoices to you through their online service (Privacy policy)

Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us by email at info@paulcartwrightbranding.co.uk or calling us on 01843 591510.

(b) We have a contractual obligation.


4. How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored on our computer system’s encrypted digital storage devices.

We don’t keep printed copies of your information.

We keep your name, contact and company details (as listed in 1.) and any related contracts/agreements for three years.

We keep invoices which contain your name, company name and address for a period of six years plus the current year for tax records purposes.

We may keep the information for longer if we consider you an ‘active’ client, i.e. someone who is regularly communicating with us and that we are working on projects with. When it seems, due to inactivity, that we are no longer working with you, we will then dispose of your information by deleting emails from our system (Google/Gmail/GSuite), your contact details in our computer’s address book entries and any contracts documents (usually in PDF or Word format.)

Should you contact us after this period we will then begin the process again, requesting and recording your details and issuing new agreements/contracts where applicable.


5. Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.

Personal information that this website collects and why we collect it

This website collects and uses personal information for the following reasons:

1. SITE VISIT TRACKING
We, like most websites use Google Analytics to track user interaction. We use this data to determine the number of people using our site, to better understand how they find and use our web pages and to see their journey through the website.
Although Google Analytics records data such as your geographical location, device, internet browser and operating system, none of this information personally identifies you to us. Google Analytics also records your computer’s IP address which could be used to personally identify you but Google do not grant us access to this. We consider Google to be a third party data processor.
Google Analytics makes use of cookies, details of which can be found on Google’s developer guides.

2. EMAIL LINKS
Should you choose to contact us using an email link instead, none of the data that you supply will be stored by this website. Instead the data will be collated into an email and sent to us.

We have disabled the ability for users to add comments on our blog posts by default. We therefore do not collect or store any personal data from our blog.
