About

Paul Cartwright Branding is a small and highly professional graphic design company based on the east coast of Kent, offering a comprehensive graphic design service including:

  • Packaging graphic design, label design and artwork for production
  • Logo, identity and stationery design
  • Retail brand identity design
  • Marketing and promotional materials design

We work at a whole range of budgets and scales for private individuals and small companies to high street names, with a particular focus on retail design, packaging graphics and artwork.

We have experience of creating identities and packaging for men’s, women’s and children’s fashion, gifting, hosiery, lingerie, homewares and skincare, toiletries, health and beauty and personal care sectors.

We enjoy designing and creating identities from scratch, but are equally happy developing your existing logo or packaging identity or even just helping maintain the one you currently have!

Our work falls into three broad categories; CREATE, DEVELOP and MAINTAIN.

#CREATE is where we consider, sketch and create concepts that are hopefully interesting, thought-provoking and challenging, in an attempt to provide appropriate answers to a client’s brief. CREATE-type concept work ranges from logo design, label or carton graphics to the physical design of a pack or point of sale display.

#DEVELOP is where we work on an existing brand using given elements such as a logo, colour palette or existing artwork, where the client is looking for a fresh perspective on an existing identity. DEVELOP-type projects can be just subtle adjustments to a layout or a tweak to a logo at one end of the scale, but can also potentially lead to a brand new identity at the other.

#MAINTAIN is the third, general kind of work we approached to help with and this is often in the form of taking an existing identity and continuing its use on new product packaging or in the creation of new marketing and promotional adverts, flyers etc.
MAINTAIN-type work usually follows from CREATE projects where we work with clients on a long-term basis; CREATING>DEVELOPING>MAINTAINING.

Paul Cartwright, the founder and principal designer, has worked on projects for the majority of the UK’s high street retailers throughout his 23+ year career. He was Design Manager of the Debenhams product branding team and responsible for the creative design and artwork for the retailer and its 120+ portfolio of designer and core brands.

His experience from working in-house and from a supplier’s point of view, together with a solid background in 3D design means that every project is approached with an inherent consideration of the bigger picture. This ultimately results in a concept that works from the smallest element right up to store level which is challenging, appropriate, and exciting!

Paul Cartwright Branding was founded in 2004.
